Bolt and global warming science.

I love reading Andrew Bolt especially when he does naughty things.

In his latest column about global warming Bolta claims, “In fact, much recent warming may have been caused by a brighter sun, Germany's Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research says.”

But do they really say that?

Have a look here, here, here, and the big one here.

I just love the Max Planck Institute’s press release that says “Studies at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research reveal: solar activity affects the climate but plays only a minor role in the current global warming.”

Kind of makes a mockery of Bolt’s claims.

Andrew, it isn’t nice misrepresenting scientists, and it is against the journalist's code of ethics. Yes you are an embarrassment to the profession.

The following is a letter to the editor at the Herald Sun. Will they publish it or protect an unethical journalist?

In Andrew Bolt's recent column about global warming, the columnist argues, "In fact, much recent warming may have been caused by a brighter sun, Germany's Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research says."

But do they say this?

The very first line of the Max Planck Institute's press release states, "Studies at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research reveal: solar activity affects the climate but plays only a minor role in the current global warming."

At the end of the press release they cliam "...the Sun is not the cause of the present global warming."

Andrew Bolt has deliberately misrepresented scientific research to support his opinion on global warming.

This is highly unethical, and if Andrew Bolt has any credibility left he will admit he is wrong and print an apology and correction.

No I don't expect the Herald Sun to print a retraction or discipline Bolt in any way shape or form. Media Watch has been notified.

what? has Andrew Bolt ever been credible or ethical? Is he a journalist or a deluded man that has his opinion published in a paper that considers it newsworthy. Surely this makes a futher mockery on what journalistic standard is considered acceptable at this paper.
